Today was one of the best days I’ve had in a long time. I left my hotel room after a long week of work in New York City to my girlfriend’s apartment in SoHo to have a day to ourselves. If you’re thinking that a day to ourselves means checking into a spa and getting pedicures, that’s not it at all! She’s as adventurous as I am, so the only thing on the agenda was… exploring.
While walking around Brooklyn and over lunch, we decided it would be awesome to have a relaxing night to ourselves where I would “cook for her and bake her a cake.” Me cooking for my friends seems to be the plan often, lol.
After going through the few contents of her fridge and pantry, she just returned from a business trip, after all, we pulled up my Instacart app and ordered everything we needed to make dinner and bake a cake together from the groceries around her neighborhood.
After seven days on the road I needed to do laundry, so I added detergent to my order as well. A hurried departure from my hotel room also meant that I left my toothbrush, toothpaste, and face wash behind, so I added those too. Even though those items came from a different store, I added them to my InstaCcart order.
If you’ve never heard of InstaCcart, InstaCcart is a same-day grocery delivery service. It’s like having a personal shopper and a delivery person in one. But it’s more than just groceries. Instacart connects to drug stores in the area, from which I ordered all the household supplies (Bounty paper towels, toilet paper, Crest toothpaste, face wash, Tide detergent, an Oral-B toothbrush, Dawn dish soap, and a few others). It was so convenient to be able to get all of my favorite items delivered even while I was traveling.
Basically, you can save yourself a trip to the supermarket, because Instacart delivers groceries in as little as an hour. What they do is they connect you with a personal shopper in the area to shop and deliver all your groceries from your favorite stores, wherever you are.
Whether it’s on the app or online, I can shop my local grocery stores, and then I schedule the delivery when it’s convenient for me. For us, it was the perfect solution to be able to enjoy our day out and about, and then when we got back, all of our groceries and household items were delivered waiting with the doorman.
When I use Instacart at home, I schedule the delivery time when I know someone will be home, and that’s always convenient.
You know what else is convenient? After a long day of exploring, putting on clean pjs, eating a homemade meal, and having a slice of cake. If only someone would come over and wash up our mess! Well, I took care of that too. The cleanup, that is!
