Cheddar Bacon Waffles

These cheddar bacon waffles are the perfect morning breakfast!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 8 pieces of bacon, cooked and crumbled

Instructions

  1. Preheat the waffle iron.
  2. In a large bowl, sift flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add in the melted butter, eggs, and milk, and combine. Once the batter is mixed, add the grated Cheddar cheese and most of the bacon crumbles, reserving some for serving. Fold in the ingredients until they are incorporated evenly into the batter. 
  3. Once the batter is ready and the waffle iron is hot, pour enough batter to fill the cavity (amount will vary by waffle iron) and close. Cook according to your waffle iron’s instructions. 
  4. Serve immediately topped with a little butter, additional shredded Cheddar, bacon crumbles, and maple syrup.
