Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken

There’s only one way to get that juicy shredded chicken made: with this recipe for crockpot chicken tacos! Easy, 2 ingredients, and delish!

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts*
  • 2 cups salsa

Instructions

  1. Place chicken inside the slow cooker and cover with salsa. Toss to combine and cover with lid.
  2. Cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6-8 hours until the chicken shreds easily with a fork.
  3. Shred the chicken in the slow cooker and toss with the remaining salsa and juices until everything is thoroughly combined.
  4. Serve immediately and refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Notes

*You can use any cut of chicken for this recipe. For easy shredding, I recommend boneless chicken breasts or thighs.

Cooking times will always vary based on your slow cooker. I’ve found that newer slow cookers cook faster since they tend to be hotter. If you can, set your cooking time and then set the slow cooker to the warm setting.
