What I am about to tell you, is a really embarrassing story. So hold your horses because there is something to learn here.
What seems like a lifetime ago (7yrs & pre-kids) I was working inside a Drs office for the company I represented. Just my luck, it happened to be April Fool’s day. The Dr in the office decided he would play a joke on the staff. He put ketchup and mayo packets under the toilet seat as a joke to the next employee to use the staff only bathroom. Lucky me!! I had to use the restroom and the employee bathroom was the closest to the area I was working (also across the hall from his office).
I sat down, and BAM!! Yup, you guessed it. Ketchup and Mayo EVERYWHERE and you can only guess… you know where. HORRIBLE. I screamed -loud- because I didn’t know what the hell happened, and within seconds someone is CRACKING UP across the hall (yes the Dr). Although I was tempted to walk out as I was, I managed to get myself cleaned up. When I walked out the Dr was standing in the hall to see who had been the victim and he nearly died when he saw it was me -too late thank-you-very-much!
I borrowed some scrubs to change into for the rest of the day and as I had to visit another 10 or so accounts people would ask why I wore scrub bottoms with my business suit and heels (home was 50min away). Each and every time I retold the story I would nearly pee on myself along with everyone else hearing it.
Motherhood is very much like this joke. At times, we want to scream LOUD and find ourselves in desperate situations looking for a way out. Remember your kid’s first diaper blow out? Now, we rehash those stories and are able to laugh out loud with others; because we are all human and can’t help it but relate.
Like they say, attitude is everything. Sh#t does happen- to all of us at one point or another. So, in the end, it’s up to us to change and keep going with our day.
Have you had something embarasing happen to you that you’ve been able to laugh about later?

I got a much needed giggle out of this story!!

Loved this post…attitude is everything in life.

That’s a good one. My life is a series of embarrassing situations that I later laugh about – because if you don’t laugh you’ll just cry…
Laura
I have taken embarrassment out of my vocabulary. I now refer to embarrassing situations as laughable; otherwise, I’d cry too.

Great story…thanks for sharing!!! I bet it’s pretty fun now, but not so much when it happened.
Laura
DEFINITELY NOT FUNNY at the time… only later!
