Whether it’s Father’s Day, his birthday, holidays, or I simply want to gift my dad something as a nice gesture, I often get the “I don’t need anything” answer.
If you have one of these dads in your life, then this post is filled with ideas for gifts for dads who want nothing. Most of these are straight-out practical, easy to put to use, and always well received!
Over the years, the gift-buying duties have become my responsibility and these are some of my best-received dad and father-in-law gift ideas. It’s fair to say that I’ve won “best daughter” and “best daughter-in-law” mention a few times 😉
Practical Gifts for Dad
If you tend to buy a Home Depot or Lowe’s gift card for practicality’s sake, the following gifts are going to be right up your alley. They check the practical and usable categories and won’t collect dust in the closet or garage.
Light & Portable Leaf Blower
Unlike the heavy-duty blower used for cutting the grass over the weekend, this one can be kept on the back porch or garage, making cleanup a breeze!
Garage Tool Caddy
For dads that spend a lot of time in the garage and in the yard but have everything accumulated in a corner, this caddy is essential, and it has wheels! Perfect for husbands too!
Gifts for the Kitchen Aficionado
My dad enjoys cooking and always seems to be in the kitchen. During our daily FaceTimes, he often shares his newest “gadget” he’s currently loving. Below are just a few:
Aero Garden Indoor Garden
Perfect for the home cook that loves fresh herbs year-round!
Cold Brew Coffee Maker
The easiest way to make cold brew overnight is in a durable and easy to clean press. In the morning, push down on the plunger, keeping the grounds in place! Two words: EASY CLEANUP.
If you had a dad that loves coffee, I have an entire section below with gift ideas for the coffee lover dad.
If the dad in your life lives in a cold climate or has downsized and misses his bbq grill, this easy and inexpensive indoor grill works great!

Wireless TV Headset
When someone is hard of hearing, the tv is blasting, which means loads of bickering. Easy peasy solution with these Bluetooth headphones, they can comfortably watch tv without disrupting the entire house.
Heated Electric Blanket with Foot Warming Pocket
What’s better than sitting on a recliner with a heated blanket on low? Toasty toes! With an auto shut-off function, this is one gift you’ll feel warm and cozy about giving. Heck, you might want one for yourself. 😉
I bought my parents a robot vacuum one year and it’s a gift they share stories daily on our Facetime calls. “Can you believe the robot picked up a full basket of pet hair? and… Man, the robot wasn’t too full today. I wonder if he did the entire house?” Grab one for your in-laws here, it will be the hero gift of the year!
