I love being pregnant. There are a few things, however, I could do without. Weight gain is one of them.
I’ve never heard a mother say: I don’t mind the weight gain. If she does, she’s lying. Yes, creating life is beautiful, the rewards are amazing and no parent ever says “here, I’ll give this one back” when the baby comes out.
I am not being vain here, ok maybe a little, but I like my clothes to fit. I also like to stay healthy, sleep better and have little or no back pain -the final one being most important.
It’s been 4 ½ months since I had baby G and while a night with more than 5 hours of sleep doesn’t come by often, we are happy and adjusted.
That means… it’s time people. It’s time for me to lose the last pregnancy pounds, get out of my workout clothes (when I’m not working out bc nothing fits) and depend less on coffee and more on that post-workout energy that lasts most of the day.
What have I done in the past to lose the weight? Work out 4-5x week hard. I mean… hard. Oh, did I mention I don’t like working out? Yeah, there’s that problem too… but I’m on a mission people!
Loosing weight is hard for everyone. It’s even more difficult if you work around food 24/7 like I do and while I might be small framed… I am not naturally skinny. It takes work. So here is what I am doing: P90X 3-4x week and 1-2 days of cardio.
Working out is a full family activity around here. Since E prefers that I don’t post a pic of an Insanity workout we did the other day, I will tell you that sometimes we work out together others in separate rooms -but always with the kids dancing, moving and pretending they are working out too.
In other words, as parents we must be an example of the kind of people we want our children to become. It’s only been two weeks since I started working out again but I already feel better.
The best part of working out? Either a shake or my homemade version of Grab the Gold bars get the recipe here.

My ‘baby’ is 8. Sigh… those same 10 pounds are still here.
I’m ready to loose them.. !!

The “final 10” are the hardest. Only through HARD work. ugh. My only suggestion is to make a plan and see what works. if you fall out of the routine don’t kill yourself over it. Move on and start the next day.

Healthy mind, healthy body! The endorphins alone from working out make it all worthwhile.
And looking forward to the recipe.
