Today, I’m taking you step by step on how to make the perfect cup of Bulletproof coffee. Plus, a simple video so I can show you exactly how it’s done!
Whether you drink this deliciousness to support your keto goals or want long-lasting energy throughout your morning, Bulletproof coffee is a powerful and delicious way to get in a variety of health benefits and keep cravings at bay.
I’ve been drinking it almost daily since 2013 and I can notice a difference in my day when I drink a regular cup of brewed coffee versus taking 5 minutes to make it “Bulletproof.”

What is Bulletproof Coffee
This isn’t your average cup of joe, it is made with high-quality coffee blended with grass-fed butter and MCT or Brain Octane Oil into a golden, velvety beverage.
It’s a cupful of energy, healthy fats, nutrients, and my favorite way to enjoy that morning cup of coffee.
I created a post of the health benefits of Bulletproof coffee for women a while back but today we’re going focus on the recipe itself.
Bulletproof Coffee Ingredients
The ingredients are specific and high-quality for good reason. Each provides unique benefits and work with one another to give you ample energy, a satiated appetite, and mental clarity.
- High-quality coffee
- Grass-fed butter
- MCT or Brain Octane Oil
Many people are curious if regular coconut oil is a good substitution for MCT or Brain Octane Oil, and it’s so-so. While coconut oil has benefits and makes a frothy blended cup of coffee, MCT is 9 times, and Octane 18 times stronger and more concentrated forms of the same medium-chain triglycerides.
So, if you’re going to drink “fat” make it count and give yourself maximum benefits.

What does this mean, the whole medium-chain triglycerides? Your body turns the medium-chain triglycerides (the fat) in MCT into ketones which help burn fat and curb cravings. The more medium-chain triglycerides the stronger the benefits.
Making Bulletproof Coffee
While there’s no need to buy an expensive high-speed blender to make bulletproof coffee; you’ll need something with a motor to act like a centrifuge to combine all the ingredients.
Brew the Coffee
Using a coffee brewer, pour-over, or french press, brew an 8-ounce cup of coffee, or a little more to your liking.
Blend
Combine the coffee, 1 tablespoon Brain Octane or MCT oil, and 1 tablespoon grass-fed butter in a blender. Blend for 20 to 30 seconds or until the coffee becomes frothy.
Pour and enjoy
Much like it sounds, grab your favorite mug and sip away.

Where to Buy It
If you want the bio-hacking experience with low-toxin beans, I recommend buying the original coffee beans. Their souring, farming, and processing procedures are held to highest quality standards and I personally notice the difference in taste when I make a cup of bulletproof coffee with their beans versus regular.
If you can’t find it in your local grocery store, you can order them from Amazon or the online store. At the very least, use single-origin coffee beans (no blends).
Bulletproof Coffee Benefits
As noted above the coffee, grass-fed butter, and MCT oil all work together to ensure your body gets the full benefit of caffeine but it also reduces cravings, longer-lasting energy, and ability to focus on daily tasks.
Yes, all of this from one cup of coffee!
I have a more detailed explanation of the benefits of Bulletproof coffee for women, here. I’m not saying it will solve all of your problems but it can help you feel your best and stay productive.
