October Unprocessed: Butternut Squash Pizza

What would happen if I went an entire month without eating any processed foods?

This is the exact question Andrew Wilder from Eating Rules asked himself back in October of 2009.  He’s been a “real” food eater and promoter long before the trend towards “health” and “unprocessed” began.  Last year, he launched his website and he challenged bloggers and friends to 30 days of eating unprocessed foods.  The response was overwhelmingly successful and this year he is back again for round 2!

I was fortunate enough to meet Andrew in person and when the opportunity came to write a post on eating something unprocessed I jumped on it.  I’ll admit that I haven’t been sticking to the challenge 100% myself, but nearly all the food I make is unprocessed.  He asked me to talk about making the change to grinding my own wheat and contribute a good recipe with it!

One thing we do nearly year round is Friday-night brick oven pizza night at my house.  Yes, you’ve read it right! I’ve figured out how to get the pizzas to come out from my oven like they do at the restaurant!!  Want to learn how? Hop on over to get the scoop on freshly ground wheat and my fantastic butternut squash pizza recipe.

LOVE it! Doing the same here, but without the grains, dairy and legumes. Plus, not as hard as I thought it would be until you started sending me pictures of all the food you were cooking up in your place!!! Love this pizza idea!!
