Preheat the air fryer with the tray in it for 5 minutes at 400F. If your air fryer has a preheat mode, you can use that too.
In a small bowl, whisk the olive oil, garlic powder, seasonings, salt and black pepper.
Cook:
Place the frozen chicken breasts directly onto the preheated air fryer basket. Air fry for 15 minutes, flip them over, and brush or spoon the olive oil and seasoning mixture over the chicken breasts. I usually brush it on both sides.
Cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165F. See notes below on cooking times, which will vary by size. Squeeze half of a lemon over the hot chicken breasts in the air fryer.
Serve:
Serve the chicken breasts with your favorite sides and a lemon wedge.
Notes
Seasoning: use your favorite seasonings combined with olive oil to season the chicken breasts.
Sauces: if using bbq sauce, wait to brush it onto both sides of the chicken breasts during the last 5 minutes of cooking, when the temperature is around 160F, so the sauce doesn't burn.
Cooking time: total cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the chicken breast. Thin pieces of breasts, like butterflied pieces, will take about 15 minutes, whereas thicker breasts can take up to 40 minutes. Cooking chicken by measuring the internal temperature is always the most accurate method.
