The Family KickStart Program sets families up for success to eat healthier long term by including familiar recipes made with better ingredients that kids are more likely to eat!
Everything is organized into a simple-to-follow 30-day meal plan you can use without feeling overwhelmed.
Thousands of families have used this simple plan and now it’s your turn to enjoy healthy mealtimes too! Keep reading, I’ll tell you the rest.
Hi, I’m Laura, the creator of the Family KickStart Program, and this is my family.
Since 2011, I’ve shared my recipes online and in 5 published cookbooks -they’ve all been part of our healthier eating journey, which has been far from perfect.
We’ve experienced:
My family has dealt with many obstacles, and through it all, I’ve had one goal: Eat healthy as a family.
But not everyone was on board. My daughter did not want to change her diet. My son wanted nuggets and mac & cheese, and my husband (although supportive) was no help in the kitchen.
Nobody wanted to give up their favorite foods and I grew impatient and exhausted.
So, I looked for meal plans and solutions, and found none that tailored families as a whole.
There were ZERO programs that could help me eat healthier with my family and create long term healthy eating habits that we could stick.
I tried many diets, and failed a lot.
Everything I found from nutrition challenges, to detoxes or clean eating programs was fine for me but not for my family.
After years of feeling like a failure, I had enough, and created the program myself with healthy recipes a normal family would enjoy eating.
After all, I run a digital food company, I have access to nutritionists, I’ve written 5 family-centric published cookbooks and even competed and won on Food Network with my recipes!
So why not create an organized, easy-to-follow plan specifically made for families, right?
And now, you’re here. Reading our story and the story of thousands of families that have already enjoyed the Family KickStart Program.
“I finally have a way to eat Whole30, eliminate sugars, and eat real food for 30 days as a family! The meal prep sheets are huge time savers for busy parents. The Slow Cooker “Lasagna” Recipe blew my mind. Lasagna without pasta? Oh, yes. It’s now on our weekly meal rotation.”
Here’s the thing. The Family KickStart Program’s goal is to help families eat better by establishing healthy eating habits.
And with the support of your family, you can achieve your personal health goals.
What I’ve learned from millions of parents in my online community is that the need for a program created for families has grown.
Parents have less time to cook than ever before and ultimately, they want healthy foods their family will eat.
KickStart is not a challenge. It’s a full program created to encourage good eating habits by using simple, easy to find ingredients.
It’s not a one-shoe-fits-all program. There are two versions of the program and you can choose the best one for your family.
Both eliminate processed foods and sugars and add foods with a lot more nutritional bang for your bite than previously eaten before (more details below).
It’s also not a detox – unless you’ve been eating bagels for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, frozen meals and takeout for dinner, and convenience foods for snack. In that case, it might look like a “detox” since the program doesn’t include refined sugars or processed carbohydrates that are likely to turn into sugars.
Finally, it’s not a cleanse. I mean, who wants to poop for days and eliminate the good stuff with the bad? Although many families have experienced less constipation and bloating after meals just by incorporating more fresh foods into their diet.
Family KickStart is not a scheme to get you buying “special” products or supplements with big fancy claims. There are no special drinks, shakes, powders, or pills to take or purchase to go with this program. Just real food. Period.
The recipes inside of KickStart look similar to your family’s favorite foods but made with clean and healthy ingredients.
KickStart will help you eliminate the overwhelm of planning, prepping, and figuring out what to eat to stay on track with your health goals.
These photos show some of the recipes included.
“I’m a steak & potatoes kind of guy and I love my coffee + bagels in the morning. When my wife said we were going to try KickStart for 30 days because she needed to eat better for her health (and get rid of the final pregnancy pounds) I cringed. But you know? I liked the food, I lost my sympathy weight (ahem!) and we saved money by eating at home. I can’t complain“
If you’ve tried other 21-day or 30-day programs with your family and were left discouraged because you “didn’t finish it” or the rest of the family members weren’t very receptive, you are not alone.
It takes time to implement the changes we want and to see the results, and when you have a family in the mix, it can be more difficult. I mean, how many times have you wondered what to make for dinner that is compatible with your plan and that your family will actually eat?
Or, wanted to make changes as a family but knew they wouldn’t eat the foods?
I know this program will work for your family because the meals “don’t look weird,” and thanks to my kids, you have two pancake recipes to choose from (they told me to tell you that).
In addition, all the prep is broken down so you can tackle the kitchen like a boss, and shopping will be a breeze with organized lists.
Everything has been planned and organized beautifully to help you succeed.
All of the things I listed above are important, but if you still have questions, I have the answers for you:
“I thought we ate healthy but after looking at the foods in my pantry, I realized much of our food was processed.
With KickStart, I’ve learned how to feed my body so it’s fueled to stay healthy and live healthier. I did the program at Level 2 and my husband and kids at Level 1. It was easy to follow, flexible, and we all ate the same things. -a huge relief!”
The Family KickStart Program yields 4 servings per recipe (some yield 6).
The program includes recipes for 7 days, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
If you’ve been eating a lot of junk and relying on processed foods at most meals, there will be a noticeable difference in the eating styles.
This Clean Eating Program focus on eating unprocessed foods.
Inside each KickStart Program Guide you’ll find a list of foods recommended to have on hand/stock your pantry to eat cleaner and healthier meals.
The program is gluten-free for 30 days since this is the biggest culprit of reduced energy, bloating, and food intolerances.
The Family KickStart Program focuses on building recipes with fresh, easy-to-find ingredients.
It does require you to purchase more fresh foods (or frozen versions) to build your meals. It does not rely on pasta dishes to fill your meal plan. There’s nothing wrong with pasta, if you can tolerate it, but the program does not have it for 30 days.
We don’t eat pork, what now?
Great question! Our recipes are flexible enough to swap out one protein for another. You’ll learn how inside the Program Guide.
For example, a pork roast can be swapped for a beef roast. Easy peasy! Keep the protein weight the same and you should be fine.
When you purchase the Family KickStart, you have everything you need to get started immediately.
