One of my favorite things to whip up on movie night is this cinnamon honey popcorn. It’s a yummy, family-friendly snack that will leave you licking your fingers it’s so good!
I remember my first movie-theater popcorn experience when I first came to the States, back in 1991. The theater’s butter flavored popcorn was unlike anything I had ever had before in Spain, where my mom would typically pop us some over the stove top.
Microwave popcorn wasn’t a thing for us then, although they do sell it now, and there was no such thing as flavors or melted butter at the movie theater either.
To make popcorn more interesting, my mom would sprinkle cinnamon over it, right in the pot, and toss it around to distribute it around. It’s amazing what a touch of cinnamon can do to plain popcorn.
A few months ago, on a whim, I popped popcorn for the kids and proceeded to sprinkle the cinnamon over it, as I had done so many times in the past. My daughter, lover of all things sweet, decided to drizzle a little honey over the bowl and the rest, as they say, is history.
Whether you air pop your popcorn, use the microwave, the stove top, or buy a bag of air-popped popcorn for this quick snack, one thing is for sure; you’ll be licking your fingers it’s so good!

I’m personally not a big fan of the buttered popcorn so I make it with caramel.

If you’re using a bag of popcorn, are these proportions still the same?
Laura Fuentes
I’d use two bags for this yield.
