I’m one of those people who drinks water religiously. It’s the last thing I do before I go to sleep and the first thing when I first wake up. Just as I wait for my coffee to brew, I’m drinking another glass, most of the time daydreaming about how nice it would be to go back to bed.
Two cups of coffee into my day, I’m already capped out on caffeine and already thinking “I need more water.” Refilling my water glass is something I’m very conscious about, especially since water is essential to our health.
But I realize that for some people, drinking more water is easier said than done. So, if you’ve been struggling to get enough water daily, check out these 10 tips to help you achieve your intake goal.
Here’s the deal/skinny/truth: We need water to cushion and lubricate our joints, regulate our body’s temperature, nourish our brain and spinal cord, hydrate our cells, and more.
Did you know that every day we lose 2-3 liters of water naturally? This is why it’s important to rehydrate our bodies to maintain and restore our health. Energy, mood, skin moisture and blood pressure are all affected by dehydration, as well as signs of cognitive impairment.
And this! A dehydrated brain works harder to accomplish the same amount as a hydrated brain, and I don’t want to lose the brain cells I have left since after having kids I feel like I have “mom-brain” episodes from time to time –LOL.

To feel great, it’s important to get the right amount or the healthiest thing you can feed your body: quality water. And Primo Water does exactly that for my whole family, help us drink more water so we can be better hydrated and feel better.
As you know, when something is easily accessible to the whole family there’s a higher chance to make the good decisions together to form healthy habits.

I used to think that the filter in my fridge filtering out my tap water was fine, but I’ve learned that there are inconsistencies in the contaminants that aren’t always filtered out and my simple fridge filter isn’t doing much for my health and may even be hurting it.
As you can see from this image, the reason I choose Primo water is because it goes through a 9-step purification process for pre-filled exchange water and a 4-step purification process for self-service refill water. It not only ensures that my family and I drink the best water, but that it’s also great tasting.

For many years, I wasn’t as excited about drinking water nor did I make it as big a priority. For starters, at my house, the water that comes out of the faucet isn’t the best quality and in our area, they “flush the lines” every other month –this tells you something. And at the Studio, where I spend much of my day, we have well water that has a funny taste to it. And even though I’ve had the water tested and results came in at “normal” levels, I know that there are naturally occurring contaminants like arsenic that seep into the ground and don’t always get filtered out.
Enter my best find of the decade: my Primo water dispenser and refillable 5-gallon water bottles. Primo Water is a leading brand for offering great tasting filtered water for our homes and offices. Primo water goes through a multi-step purification process including reverse osmosis, ensuring great tasting filtered water. And the truth is, that when water tastes great, you are more likely to drink more of it!

I first heard of Primo water a few years ago in our many trips to my local home improvement store. There they were, near the checkout and I couldn’t’ help but notice how convenient it was to be available at a place that we frequent often. And then, I saw them at my local grocery.
Genius! I can by a 5-gallon pre-filled bottle or, refill my empty 5-gallon bottle at a refill station while I’m already doing my grocery shopping.
The coolest part about their water dispensers is that they are bottom loading, making it super easy (bold) to switch the bottles out. No more lifting it over the top and spilling half a gallon of precious water every time you switch out the bottle.

By this time, I noticed how much more cost effective and better for the environment it was to get my 5-gallon Primo water bottle refilled instead of buying plastic water bottles that often end up in a landfill somewhere. Each 5-gallon Primo container keeps 1100 single serve bottles out of the landfill! Better tasting, better for the environment, better for my wallet… win-win!
Finally, a solution that supports my most important habit: drink more water.

While the amount of water you should drink every day can vary depending on age and activity levels, the Institute of Medicine recommends men aim for 125 ounces a day and, women aim for 91 ounces, including water from foods and other non-caffeinated beverages. And as you saw in the video, there are lots of creative ways to make sure you get your water intake in!
The great news is that I’ve partnered with Primo Water to share with you that in the month of January, EVERY Primo water dispensers ship free, straight to your door! And, each dispenser will include 5-gallon water coupons to help you get started. They are committed to helping you and your family drink more quality water.

I ordered one in January (hurray for free shipping!) and my back is thanking me. I used to buy smaller water bottles because I can’t lift more than 20lbs, but now I can just easily put the water in the bottom dispenser… gamechanger. I now don’t feel bad about buying disposable waters because this tastes really good. The nice helper at Walmart helps me load my Primo jugs into my car and everything.

LOVE the video. Great tips! I had never thought about using water in my smoothies because the recipe usually call for “milk” but why use milk when the fruit adds flavor? great idea
