These Bisquick pancakes are proof that the classic biscuit mix can make an epic stack. One tiny swap makes this recipe better than what’s printed in the box and just as easy!

Biscuit mix Pancakes
I first spotted the pancake recipe on the back of the Bisquick box and, of course, had to try it. The original version was fine, but a little bland. Keeping the same ratios and making one tiny swap made these almost as good as my best pancake recipe.
You’ll get no judgment for using mixes since I sometimes make muffin mix pancakes and waffle mix pancakes that are equally as easy and totally satisfying.
Ingredient Ratios
Bisquik recommends a 2:1 biscuit mix to milk ratio and a 1:1 mix to egg ratio, so that’s what we’re going to keep here. They recommend using vegetable oil, but I swapped it for butter, in the same amount, to make these pancakes taste better. For more flavor, add a little vanilla; you’ll thank me later.
How to Make Bisquick Mix Pancakes
While the back of the box calls for “mixing all the ingredients,” I prefer to whisk the eggs with the milk and melted butter (or vegetable oil) first and then add the dry mix to the bowl to avoid “over-mixing” and end up with chewy pancakes. Then, cook them for about 2 minutes per side over medium heat, in a greased non-stick pan.

Mix-Ins and Flavors
You can add 1 mashed ripe banana to the batter, ½ cup of chocolate chips, 1 cup of blueberries or diced strawberries, or a teaspoon of cinnamon, and totally transform your pancakes made with a biscuit mix!
Bisquick Pancake Recipe (Made Better)

Ingredients
- 1 cup milk, any
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter, or vegetable oil
- 2 cups biscuit mix
- 1 teaspoon vanilla, optional
Instructions
Make the batter
- In a large bowl, add the wet ingredients and mix them well. Next, measure and add the Bisquick to the bowl, mixing until there's no visible dry mix left. Some lumps are ok.
Cook:
- Heat a non-stick griddle or large pan over medium heat. Once hot, grease, spray, or melt butter on the hot surface. When using an electric griddle, heat it somewhere between 300 and 350F.
- Immediately, pour ¼ cup of batter onto the greased surface and cook the pancakes for 2 minutes, until the edges begin to look defined and bubbles form. Flip the pancakes over and cook for another 2 minutes on the other side. Avoid pressing down on the pancake after flipping and only flip once. Remove the pancakes from the pan onto a plate and keep them warm while you cook the rest of the batter.
Serve:
- Top your pancake stack with your favorite syrups and toppings.
