If the yellow boxed mix is your thing, you’re going to love these banana pancakes with Bisquik!

Banana Pancakes with Bisquick
I’ve been making these Bisquick banana pancakes for my son’s spring campout for nearly 6 years -something that became a “request” after my pumpkin Bisquick pancakes made a debut during their (previous) fall campout.
These also make their way through our vacation routine, since that’s typically when I cook pancakes using a mix so I’m not left with a bunch of ingredients to toss at the end of the trip. It’s a great way to not feel bad about not bringing bananas that will turn to mush on the trip home.
Ingredients
The same ingredients written in your Bisquick box are the ones you’ll need to make banana pancakes with it.
- Bisquick Mix: the yellow box that makes everything under the sun.
- Ripe bananas: 1 to 2 bananas, depending on how much you love them.
- Milk: regular or dairy-free, both will work to make the batter.
- Eggs: give the batter texture and bind the ingredients together.
- Butter: I prefer the flavor of melted butter in this recipe vs. oil, which is what’s called for in the back of the box.
- Cinnamon: an optional touch of deliciousness that pairs great with bananas.

How to Make Bisquick Banana Pancakes
Make your stack of pancakes the best ever with these additional tips in the main steps:
- Make the batter
I like to mash the banana on a plate or inside a zip bag to give it a thick, pureé texture. While some lumps will remain, it’s a great way to make sure it mixes well and prevents overmixing the batter, which leads to chewy pancakes. - Wait 5 minutes
Letting the Bisquick and banana batter rest before cooking is the trick to fluffy pancakes using a mix because the batter will thicken up as the flour absorbs the liquid. - Cook the pancakes
Always heat the non-stick cooking surface before greasing it. If you use an oil spray or butter, make sure to pour the batter immediately after you grease it to prevent it from browning (burning). Then, cook the pancakes for about 2 minutes per side, waiting to flip the pancakes over until the edges are defined and you see bubbles forming on top. - Serve
Keep the pancakes warm while you finish cooking the entire batch, either on a plate covered or in the oven.
The Trick to Perfect Pancakes with Bisquick
Letting the batter sit for 5 minutes before making the pancakes is the trick for making them perfect! Don’t skip this step, or your pancakes won’t turn out perfectly fluffy and delicious.
Topping These Easy Pancakes
If you ask me, you can never have enough bananas so add a few slices on top, a drizzle of nut butter, some pancake syrup, or one of the pancake toppings on this list.
Bisquick Banana Pancakes (So Fluffy)

Ingredients
- 2 ⅓ cups Original Bisquick Mix
- 1 large ripe banana, about ¾ cup*
- 2 eggs
- 1 ¼ cups milk, any
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, optional
Instructions
Make the batter
- Mash the ripe banana in a plate or zip bag until the texture resembles pureé with a few banana tidbits left. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk the eggs. Add the mashed bananas, milk, and melted butter. Measure the Bisquick mix and add the cinnamon, if using.
- Mix gently mixing from the outside of the bowl in. Once the batter is smooth without any visible lumps, let it sit for 5 minutes. This helps the flour absorb the moisture, make a thicker batter, and yield fluffy pancakes.
Cook the pancakes
- Heat a large non-stick pan over medium heat. Once hot, grease it with oil or butter. Immediately pour ¼ cup of the batter per pancake on the greased, hot surface.
- Cook the first side for about 2 minutes until the edges are defined and bubbles form. Flip and cook the other side for an additional minute, without pressing the pancakes down with a spatula.
- Remove the cooked banana pancakes onto a plate or keep them warm as you cook the rest of the batch.
- Serving & Storage:
- Serve the pancakes warm, topped with your favorite toppings.
- Refrigerate leftover pancake batter for up to 2 days, cooked pancakes for up to 3 days, or freeze them for later inside an airtight container or zip bag.
