Eggnog french toast has golden, crispy exteriors and fluffy centers with the flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Eggnog French toast is a delicious, cozy breakfast that fits the flavor and feel of the holidays.

The rich flavor of eggnog adds that cinnamon-nutmeg flavor we all love and gives each slice a fluffy interior with golden, crisp edges. It’s exactly what everyone will want to wake up to on Christmas day.

Christmas French Toast

Eggnog is a staple around the holidays, and using it to make Christmas French toast is a great idea! I guarantee you will love this eggnog French toast, a festive breakfast that’s downright dreamy with melted butter and maple syrup.

This recipe is also made with simple and minimal ingredients: eggnog, thickly sliced bread, eggs, extra cinnamon, and butter (for grilling). It’s all you need for a perfect batch of french toast.

Each bite tastes like a treat and if you’re looking for more delicious recipes to satisfy your sweet tooth, check out my Clean Treats Cookbook. It’s full of no-bake recipes, chocolate galore, and baked goods made with healthier ingredients.

Eggnog French Toast

This French toast is a perfect way to get your eggnog fix or use up any leftovers. You can make this recipe with homemade, storebought, or dairy-free eggnog.

To make sure your slices of French toast are crispy on the outside and the centers are cooked through, you’ll want to use thick sliced bread, like brioche, challah, or Texas toast. Here’s a post on the best bread for French toast and the list includes a gluten-free option.

Otherwise, if you make this recipe with regular sandwich bread, don’t let the slices soak as long, about 30 seconds to a minute for each side.

How to Make Eggnog French Toast

Are you ready to make some incredible French toast for breakfast on Christmas? Good! Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Make the liquid mixture
In a shallow dish, whisk the eggnog, eggs, and cinnamon until combined.
  2. Get the skillet hot
In a large nonstick pan or pancake griddle, melt the butter over medium heat if using a pancake griddle that’s about 350F.
  3. Soak
Place the slices of bread into the eggnog mixture long enough to soak the side, then flip the bread and allow it to soak for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Cook the French toast
Place the slices of bread in the hot pan or onto the pancake griddle and cook on one side for 3 to 4 minutes. Using a spatula, flip, and brown the other side for an additional 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown and the centers are fluffy.
  5. Grab a plate
Stack the French toast onto a plate and top with butter and maple syrup.
