Fluffy with melty centers, these Nutella pancakes hit that sweet spot between indulgent and just enough, and they're surprisingly simple to make.

Nutella Stuffed Pancakes
These pancakes are stuffed with Nutella. The batter is based on the best pancake recipe with a soft, fluffy texture that’s perfect for trapping that creamy chocolate-hazelnut center perfectly.
They're sweet and satisfying without going chocolate overboard, unless you want to, in which case, make double chocolate pancakes. Think of these as the treat that feels extra, just like my cookie pancakes.
Ingredients
The batter is made with staple ingredients, including all-purpose flour as the base, baking powder for a fluffy texture, a little sugar, and salt. Milk is the liquid base; an egg binds the ingredients, a little melted butter adds moisture, and vanilla for flavor. For the filling, you'll need Nutella, of course!
How to Make Nutella Pancakes
A few notes in the steps that make a big difference and keep the process simple:
- Make the batter by mixing the dry ingredients in a big bowl, and then add all the wet ingredients. Mix until no visible flour remains.
- Melting the Nutella makes it easier to spread. I like to melt it in 30-second increments, which I repeat a few times as it cools after making a couple of pancakes.
- Cook the pancakes over medium heat. You'll pour about 2 tablespoons of batter, a dollop of melty Nutella on top, and then another 2 tablespoons of batter over the nutella to cover it.
Tip: I do the batter/Nutella/batter process one pancake at a time, cooking 2-3 pancakes per batch in a pan.

Nutella Pancakes Made Easy

Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- Pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 ½ cups milk, any
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, optional
- ¾ cup Nutella
Instructions
Make the batter:
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Make a well in the middle and pour in the milk, egg, butter, and vanilla extract. Break up the egg first with a fork and mix the wet ingredients, and then begin to combine the flour, working from the outside of the bowl in, until just combined and mostly smooth.
Cook the pancakes:
- Place the Nutella in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it up, in 30-second increments, until it's melted, gooey, and spreads easily. Place it close to the pan. You might need to reheat it after a few batches as it cools.
- Heat a large non-stick pan over medium heat and once hot, grease it. Immediately, pour about 2 tablespoons of batter onto the greased pan. I use a ¼cup measuring scoop and fill it halfway. Then, spoon 1 tablespoon of melted nutella over the batter, keeping it mostly in the center. Pour another 2 tablespoons of batter over the Nutella and base. I do this process (batter/Nutella/batter), one pancake at a time, but cook 3 pancakes in my pan in the same batch.
- Cook the first side for 2 minutes, flip the pancakes over using a spatula, and cook the second side for 2 more minutes. Remove from the pan and repeat the process with the remaining batter.
Serve:
- Plate a few pancakes on a plate and top with banana slices, strawberry slices, or your favorite toppings.
