The easiest recipe for ground turkey lasagna: prep everything in 10 minutes and let the oven do the rest.

My family loves this hearty turkey lasagna, and yours will, too, after the first bite. Easy layering, no boiling noodles, just pure comfort food made easy.

Lasagna with Ground Turkey

If lasagna is not on your list of easy family meals, that’s about to change. This recipe simplifies the process to 10 minutes of prep, since there’s no need to boil the noodles: you just mix ingredients and make the layers.

We’ve been eating this ground turkey lasagna for so long that I also created a lasagna recipe with cottage cheese for days when I need a protein boost. One way or the other, it’s always drool-worthy!

What You Need

To make this recipe, you’ll need regular or oven-ready lasagna noodles. For the meat sauce, you’ll use ground turkey and your favorite marinara sauce. The cheese layer is made with regular or part-skim ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, eggs, and simple seasonings.

How to Make Ground Turkey Lasagna

Since the oven does all the work, it only takes 10 minutes to assemble this lasagna. Check it out:

  1. Make the filling
Brown the ground turkey and then add the marinara sauce. While the meat sauce cooks, mix the cheeses, eggs, and seasonings.
  2. Bake
Assemble the lasagna layers and bake, covered with foil, for 55 minutes at 350F. Remove the foil 10 minutes before finishing to brown the top.
Left: raw ground turkey, lasagna noodles on a wooden board with ricotta cheese and black pepper, bowls with shredded mozzarella, parmesan, eggs, salt, garlic powder, and marinara sauce.
Right: large bowl with cheese mix

How to Layer Lasagna Correctly

Follow the layering order, and you’ll see how easy it is. You’ll pour some sauce in the baking dish, then add lasagna noodles, cheese mixture, and meat sauce. Repeat the process once. For the final layer, add lasagna noodles, meat sauce, then sprinkle cheese on top. That’s all!

Serving Suggestions

This ground turkey lasagna is a complete meal that still leaves some room for simple sides like an easy side salad, sautéed cabbage, or crusty bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 jars (24 oz each) marinara sauce, your favorite
  • 32 ounces ricotta cheese, regular or part-skim
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan, divided
  • 9 lasagna noodles, regular or oven-ready

Instructions

Prep:

  • Preheat the oven to 350F (175C) with the oven rack in the middle position.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the ground turkey, breaking it up with a spatula, until it’s fully browned and cooked through, for 8 to 10 minutes. Drain excess grease. Add the marinara sauce to the skillet and simmer for a few minutes, while you prep the cheese mixture.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs. Add the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt. Add the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of the shredded mozzarella cheese, and ½ cup of Parmesan cheese to the bowl. Mix thoroughly with a fork to combine. Set aside.

Assemble:

  • Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce at the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with a single layer of uncooked lasagna noodles and then distribute half of the cheese mixture on top of the noodles, spreading it out from end to end. Top it with a little meat sauce, then add another layer of lasagna noodles on top.
  • Repeat this by topping the noodles with the rest of the cheese mixture, some of the sauce (about half of what’s left), and then a final top layer of noodles. Spread the remaining meat sauce over the noodles, then top with the remaining cup of mozzarella cheese and ¼ cup Parmesan cheese.

Bake:

  • Cover the lasagna tightly with foil and bake in the preheated oven for a total of 55 minutes. In the final 10 minutes, remove the foil and finish cooking, uncovered, to brown the cheesy top.
  • Remove from the oven and let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.
