One of my go-to snacks mid-afternoon to make it through to dinner are these loaded celery stalks! Stuffed with hummus and topped with Kalamata olives and feta, they are irresistible!

If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you know that I have used hummus in every way possible. But when it comes to snacking, hummus is pretty much the unofficial snack food.
I often snack on hummus and celery along with some olives mid-afternoon, when I need a pick-me-up before running out to my kid activities. Of course, it’s also a great snack for kids, although my youngest prefers to eat hummus directly out of the tub with a spoon.
I’ve also served these Hummus Stuffed Celery Stalks at parties as an appetizer platter. They please the crowd and it becomes a great way to not have the guests double dip their veggie in the hummus tub.
Great appetizers like this one bring people together at parties and it’s the perfect recipe to share with friends.
Is Celery and Hummus a Healthy Snack?
Celery and hummus are both packed with nutrition, making this a terrific snack. Celery has tons of vitamins, minerals, and fiber, while hummus is also rich in fiber, protein, calcium, iron, and antioxidants. A winning combo!
Hummus is a great substitute for mayo in many recipes, as I do in my Greek Deviled Eggs recipe. More nutrition, less fat! When you want a low-carb dip, celery makes a healthy swap for crackers and chips.
If you add feta cheese and olives to the equation -both classic ingredients from the Mediterranean diet- you get a healthy snack made with real and good-for-you ingredients.

My favorite Sabra Hummus is the roasted red pepper. Love to dip carrots and mushrooms in it!

I prefer the classic hummus. My children don’t always like the flavored versions, so they can enjoy plain hummus with veggies or as a sandwich spread, and I can add to it when a different flavor is desired. I could wat a whole tub!

I spread the Roasted Red Pepper hummus on top of Naan bread & then layer on top of that: feta cheese, slices of roasted red pepper & sliced Kalamata olives (I purchase the latter two from the specialty salad bar section of the grocery store). I warm it in the oven for a little while and it is scrumptious!

The Sabra’s roasted red pepper hummus has always been my favorite, but know that I know to look for an olive tapenade variety, it may soon be displaced!

Sabra’s Organic Simply Roasted Garlic is a current fave for my 4 yo’s lunch. I layer it on to make the veggies stick together and avoid the dreaded “slip-out” – bread, hummus, spinach, hummus, olives, hummus, shredded carrots, hummus bread.
