When to Season Salmon
Whether you cook salmon in a pan, the air fryer, or in the oven, always season it raw. Since salt absorbs moisture, don’t season it ahead, but just right before cooking it.
Salmon usually has a little slimy texture, so I recommend patting it dry with paper towels before seasoning so the spice blend sticks better.
How Much Seasoning to Use Per Salmon Fillet
Always season salmon raw with about 1 to 1 ½ tablespoons of seasoning per 1lb of fresh salmon, that’s around 1 teaspoon (a bit less) per 4-ounce fillet. This can be adjusted, up or down, to your preferences.

How to Store Salmon Seasoning
Transfer the seasoning to an air-tight jar and store it in your pantry with the other seasonings. It lasts up to 6 months. After that, you can still use it, but the herbs and spices won't be fresh, and the seasoning will be tasteless.

Hi. Your instructions say:
In a small bowl, combine onion, garlic, oregano, and paprika. Mix to combine.
What about the salt? The recipe calls for 2 tablespoons which seems like a lot to me.
Thanks

My apologies for the confusion. Everything (all the seasonings) should be mixed (including the salt). Yes, 2 tablespoons seems like a lot on its own but the recipe yields 1 1/4 cups of salmon seasoning. You only use 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of the mixed seasoning per pound of salmon, the rest you save for another day. I hope this helps!

Excellent recipe. I broil all my fish.
My wife passed last July and she wasn’t big on broiling. She’s the only thing I miss more than broiling seafood.

I have several great salmon recipes, however, I was looking for a savory rather than sweet marinade/rub. This was perfect. It is definitely in the rotation!

I made this seasoning for my salmon this week and it tasted so good! So much better than the store bought version I’d been making.
