Whether you buy it or make your own pulled pork, these skillet pulled pork nachos are always a winner.

Skillet Pulled Pork Nachos
Tuesdays are taco night at my house, and there’s one recipe my family often asks for: pulled pork tacos. So why don’t turn this tender and juicy meat into nachos? Of course! Skillet nachos with pulled pork!
The irresistible meat, the crunchy tortilla chips, the melted cheese on top, boy oh boy, don’t drool on the screen! These nachos have everything you love from the restaurant but are made quick and easy at home with simple ingredients in one skillet!
While I usually make these nachos with slow cooker BBQ pulled pork leftovers I cooked for another meal, you can buy cooked pulled pork at the store and solve dinner fast!
Ingredients
If you have tortilla chips, pork, and cheese, you can make skillet tacos! Check out the ingredient list to know what makes this recipe so delicious (and the possible swaps):
- Pulled pork: you can cook it at home or buy it at the store.
- Thick tortilla chips: hold the toppings better than regular tortilla chips.
- Shredded cheese: I like Cheddar or Mexican mix.
- BBQ sauce: use your favorite or try my kid-friendly BBQ sauce.
- Red onion: fresh, crunchy, and delicious!
- Jalapeño: for a pinch of spice!
- Extra toppings: sour cream, salsa, and guacamole are terrific additions!

How to Make Skillet Nachos
Now that you have the ingredients, you are ready to make these skillet nachos for dinner or to serve as an appetizer in just 15 minutes! Amazing! See how easily they come together:
- Prep the oven
Position the oven rack in the middle. While the oven preheats, continue with the next step. - Assemble the nachos
I recommend using a large casto iron skillet to have enough room to assemble the nacho layers: tortilla chips, pulled pork, cheese, BBQ sauce, and red onion. Then, add another layer of chips, pork, onion, and cheese. - Melt it!
Bake the pulled pork skillet nachos for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese looks melted. - Enjoy!
Add BBQ sauce, jalapeños, and your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
Best Toppings for Skillet Nachos
Another reason to love skillet nachos is that you can add topping to your heart’s content! Here are my favorites for these pulled pork nachos:
- Sour cream
- Salsa
- Guacamole
- Pico de gallo
- Olives
- Chives
- Cubed avocado
- Corn
What to Serve with Skillet Nachos
If you plan to serve these pulled pork nachos for dinner, build a complete meal with sides like cilantro lime rice, cucumber salad, or corn and black bean salsa. You can also make an epic taco night by serving these nachos with roasted veggie tacos or chorizo and butternut squash tacos. Yummy!
Easy Skillet Pulled Pork Nachos

Ingredients
- 16 ounces pulled pork, about 3 cups cooked
- 8 ounces thick tortilla chips, about 6 handfuls
- 2 cups shredded cheese, Cheddar or Mexican mix
- ½ cup BBQ sauce, your favorite
- ½ red onion, diced
- 1 jalapeño, sliced
- Additional Toppings: sour cream, salsa, guacamole
Instructions
Prep:
- Preheat the oven to 350F and position the top oven rack in the middle of the oven.
Assemble the nachos:
- Spread half of the tortilla chips on the cast iron skillet. I recommend using a large, 12-inch skillet for this. Top this first layer with half of the pulled pork, half of the cheese, half of the bbq sauce, and half of the chopped red onion (if using).
- Make a second layer of chips over the first layer and top with the rest of the pulled pork, red onions, and cheese.
Melt 'em:
- Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese looks melty. Remove the skillet from the oven.
Serve:
- Drizzle with the remaining bbq sauce, distribute the sliced jalapeños over the nachos, and top with additional fresh toppings like guacamole and sour cream.
