This cinnamon apple bread is a classic fall bread loaf recipe, it’s so good that you’ll be for sure making it as part of your breakfast bread rotation.

Ingredients
In this recipe, the apples are cooked with honey, cinnamon, and melted butter or coconut oil for incredible flavor. Then, we make the batter with all-purpose flour, baking powder to help the bread rise, salt, and eggs to bind the ingredients.
How to Make Cinnamon Apple Bread
- Cook the apples.
In a pan, cook down the diced apples with butter, honey, and cinnamon for 3 minutes until soft. - Make the batter.
In a large bowl, whisk the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt together. Add the egg, melted butter, and honey, and whisk into a batter. Add cooked apples and fold over to combine. - Bake.
Bake the bread in a preheated oven for 45 minutes. At this point, make a tent with foil and cook for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the middle.

Laura’s Tips for This Recipe
You can’t swap honey for granulated sugar without compromising the texture. I recommend using maple syrup or agave instead.
All apple varieties will work for a bread loaf, except Gala (a classic red apple), since its texture isn't great for baking. Granny Smith (green) apples are traditionally used in baking because they hold their texture best. They are a little tart raw, but they caramelize and sweeten perfectly when baked.
After the cinnamon apple bread has cooled completely, store it in an airtight container and keep it overnight on the counter or in the fridge for up to 5 days. To freeze it, slice the loaf, wrap each slice in plastic wrap or a zip bag, and freeze. It will stay fresh for up to 30 days. To enjoy it, thaw it in a few minutes or warm it up lightly in the microwave for about 15 to 20 seconds.

The batter was thicker than expected. It was ready to take out from my oven at 45 minutes. It also did not rise very much but it tasted great regardless. I was a little heavy with the baking powder and it didn’t help with rising.

Hi Shirley, thanks for sharing that it tasted great even though it didn’t rise too much for you. A couple of things: some ovens run warm and can cook breads faster. Was the oven rack in the middle position? And is your baking powder active? Those things can affect cooking time and rise.

How much baking Soda and salt? I estimated. They came out great.
Laura Fuentes says
I use 1 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon and no baking soda. Baking powder only in the recipe.
