While roasting vegetables might not be something you do on the regular, it is the best way to enjoy them! Make this simple yet restaurant-worthy roasted broccolini at home with this easy recipe.

Easy Baked Broccolini
Cooking vegetables in the oven is my favorite way to make them deliciously caramelized and appealing for my family. Most veggies usually take longer, but what I love about roasted broccolini is that it’s cooked in just 15 minutes!
Believe it or not, my kids enjoy this oh-so-green veggie, so it’s a terrific side that I can pair with rotisserie chicken or baked salmon for a quick weeknight dinner.
What is Broccolini
Broccolini is a hybrid veggie – and a yummy one at that. A lot of people think it’s just a younger broccoli stalk, but broccolini is a hybrid of regular broccoli and Chinese broccoli, with a little bit sweeter of a taste than typical broccoli stalks.

How to Roast Broccolini
This recipe is as simple as seasoning the veggie and baking it! Here are the steps and cooking tips to make roasted broccolini perfectly every time:
- Prep
Preheat the oven to 400F and line a baking pan with parchment paper for easy clean up. Wash the broccolini and trim the bottoms of the stems about ½ inch so that what remains is tender and fresh. - Combine the ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic, lemon zest, salt, and red pepper flakes. Once zested, slice the lemon in half. - Season
Add the broccolini to the bowl and toss to coat evenly with the mixture. - Add lemon
Spread the broccolini on the lined baking sheet. For added flavor, squeeze half of a lemon over the broccolini. - Bake
Bake for 15 minutes for crisp-tender broccolini, or a little longer for charred. Remove from the oven and squeeze the remaining lemon juice, if desired.
Do You Eat the Stems of Broccolini?
Yes, you can eat the stems of broccolini, as long as you remember to trim off the bottoms.

What to Serve with Roasted Broccolini
Since this is such a great side dish, let’s talk about what you should pair it with. Garlic herb chicken thighs and baked chicken pieces are some of my top choices for main entrees. Roasted broccolini is also a terrific side for flank steak with lime marinade. A perfect combo!
