Roasted Baby Carrots in the Air Fryer

My kids may turn their noses up to some veggies, but they devour carrots every time. From carrot raisin salad to carrot fries, this vegetable has become a family favorite, and I serve it in different ways. My favorite, and by far the easiest method is air fryer baby carrots!

The air fryer gives the carrots all the deliciousness of roasted carrots faster and without turning on the oven. For busy weeknight dinners, that’s totally a win!

With simple ingredients, you have a nutritious, family-friendly side dish that goes great with everything, and you can assemble quickly and effortlessly. Amazing!

Ingredients

Give your baby carrots a flavor upgrade with everyday seasonings! The measurements are in the printable recipe card, but first, check your pantry for these items:

  • Baby carrots: pat them dry before cooking them.
  • Olive oil: to coat the carrots and help seasonings stick.
  • Seasonings: I use Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

How to Get Seasoning to Stick to Baby Carrots in the Air Fryer

Remove the baby carrots from the bag onto some paper towels and pat them dry. This will help the oil and seasonings stick to the baby carrots.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb baby carrots
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Instructions

Prep:

  • Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 370F.
  • TIP: Since baby carrots are usually wet when they come out of the bag, I recommend placing them on top of a few paper towels and patting them dry to absorb the excess moisture. This helps the seasonings and oil adhere to the baby carrots.
  • In a medium bowl, add the baby carrots, olive oil, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Toss them around well to coat all the baby carrots well.

Cook:

  • Once the air fryer is done preheating, transfer the baby carrots into the air fryer basket, with or without the tray, and cook them at 370F for 12 to 15 minutes, opening the air fryer to shake the carrots halfway through cooking.
  • When the baby carrots are tender through the middle, they’re done. Remove them from the air fryer basket and serve.
