Upgrade your summer meal rotation with these juicy grilled chicken breasts infused with balsamic flavor that are a breeze to make!

Balsamic Chicken Breasts on the Grill
My family and I have a thing or two for grilled kabobs on summer weekends, so when I crave those delicious grilling marks in my classic balsamic chicken, it’s time to fire up the grill!
A quick 20-minute marinade infuses the meat with tons of mouthwatering flavors and then you just have to cook the chicken on your grill, add a delicious side, and tell your family to get ready to drool!
Ingredients
To infuse the chicken breasts with flavor, you’ll need balsamic vinegar, Italian seasoning or oregano, honey to balance the vinegar acidity, and garlic cloves.
How to Make Balsamic Grilled Chicken
Since chicken breasts have thicker parts than others, I pound them down to ensure even cooking. Then, I place them in a zip bag with the simple marinade ingredients, let them marinate for 20 minutes or overnight, and the chicken is ready to be grilled. It takes about 7 minutes per side for the internal temperature to reach 165F.
Tips for Perfectly Grilled Balsamic Chicken
Follow these simple tips for cooking grilled chicken that turns out tender and juicy every time:
Flatten the chicken breasts to 1 inch thick for even cooking.
Make sure the grill is hot enough. Don’t place the chicken breasts on the grill until it reaches medium-high heat (about 375F). A hot surface sears the meat, locks the juices, and creates the grilling marks we all love!
Don’t overcook! Overcooking is the #1 reason for dry chicken breasts, so I use a meat thermometer to check chicken doneness. When the internal temperature reaches 165F, chicken breasts are done.

How Long Does It Take to Grill Chicken Breasts
From the moment you place the balsamic chicken breasts on the preheated grill, it takes 7 minutes on the first side and 5-7 minutes on the other for the meat to cook. Since not all chicken pieces are the same size and not all grills are equal, I recommend using a meat thermometer and cooking until the internal temperature hits 165F.
Easy Sides for Chicken Breasts
Simple and tasty side dishes turn this grilled balsamic chicken into an epic meal! My favorites for this recipe are corn on the cob, grilled veggie kabobs, cilantro lime rice, and this simple side salad.
