Ingredients

Measurements are in the recipe card below, but first, check your pantry and fridge for the simple items you need to make this pear baked oatmeal:

  • Oats: old-fashioned oats -aka rolled oats- are the ones to use in this recipe.
  • Baking powder: to help the batter rise.
  • Salt: just a little to enhance all the tasty flavors.
  • Cinnamon: to make it taste like fall!
  • Brown sugar: adds moisture and sweetness.
  • Milk: use your favorite dairy or non-dairy milk.
  • Egg: helps bind the ingredients and make the batter rise.
  • Butter: add it melted for extra flavor and moisture.
  • Vanilla extract: it makes everything tastier!
  • Pears: you can use fresh or canned pears.

How to Make Pear Baked Oatmeal

Can this pear baked oatmeal be so tasty AND so easy to make? Yep. Just combine ingredients and bake! Here’s an overview of the simple steps that make this breakfast happen:

  1. Prep
First, preheat the oven, grease a baking dish, and dice the pears.
  2. Combine
Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside. Then, whisk the wet ingredients. Now, add the dry mix to the wet mix. Once you have a thick oat batter, fold in the diced pears, and place the batter in the baking dish.

  4. Serve

Ingredients

  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 medium pears*, diced

Instructions

Prep:

  • Preheat the oven to 375F and grease a 9 x 9-inch square baking dish.
  • Dice the pears on a cutting board and set aside.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine oats, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
  • In a large bowl, whisk the milk and the egg. Then, add the melted butter, and vanilla extract. Add the oat mixture into the large bowl and mix all ingredients to form a thick oat batter. Add the diced pears to the large bowl and fold with a spatula to combine.
  • Pour the oatmeal and pear mixture into the prepared baking dish. If necessary, spread the pears around to ensure they’re distributed around the dish.

Bake:

  • Bake for 35 minutes in the preheated oven until the top is golden and the oat mixture is set. Remove from oven and allow the mixture to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Note:
Swap the 4 medium pears for 2 cans of pears, without the juice.
