If you’ve been searching for a banana bread recipe with Greek yogurt that’s moist, delicious, and has the structure of the classic, this one delivers.

Ingredients
This banana bread recipe is made with ripe bananas (the riper the better), regular or vanilla and whole or non-fat Greek yogurt, melted butter for moisture, sugar makes it sweet, eggs bind the batter, vanilla and a pinch of salt for flavor, all-purpose flour as the base, and baking soda gives it a little lift of texture.
Short on a few ingredients? Try making banana bread with pancake mix instead!
What if I don’t have ripe bananas?
No problem. Peel the bananas, put them on a microwave-safe dish and zap them in 15-second increments, stopping to mash them with a fork until they’re soft and mushy.
How to Bake Banana Bread with Greek Yogurt
If you’ve made banana bread before, then you know the drill. While the oven preheats, you’ll mash the bananas in a large bowl first, then add the other wet ingredients and mix. To that mixture, you’ll add the mixed dry ingredients (combined in a separate smaller bowl) and pour the batter into a loaf pan, where it will bake for nearly an hour.
To prevent the bread from browning too much, cover the banana bread with tin foil, especially if you need to cook it a little longer.

Easy Greek Yogurt Banana Bread

Watch how it’s made:
Ingredients
- 2 large ripe bananas, about 1 ½ cups mashed
- ½ cup Greek yogurt, vanilla or plain
- ½ cup butter, melted
- ½ cup white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
Prep:
- Preheat the oven to 350F, grease a loaf pan, or line it with parchment paper.
Make the batter:
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Add the Greek yogurt, melted butter, and eggs. Whisk to combine. Add the sugar and vanilla, and mix.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients bowl until just combined. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 55 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Around minute 40, if the top of the loaf is getting too brown, cover it with a piece of tin foil and continue to bake.
- Remove it from the oven and allow it to cool down for 15 minutes before removing it from the pan and slicing.

Hello! Could you make these in muffin forms? I have seen the other recipe and were wondering if I would need to do that recipe instead, could I use all purpose flour to that one? If I can make muffins using this recipe, how long should it be in the oven and what temp if I’m gonna make these into muffins? Recommendations?
Laura Fuentes says
Yes, you could turn this exact recipe into muffins by baking them in a regular muffin pan at 350F for 22-25 minutes. Enjoy!

First time making banana bread. This recipe was so easy and delicious.

This recipe worked perfectly! My bananas were a little small but it still turned out beautifully. I also used vegetable oil to replace some of the butter, used cinnamon sugar in place of the white sugar, and added a pinch of nutmeg.
Next time I will try and replace one of the bananas with grated apple (with juice squeezed out) for a different flavour.

Hi! I would love to make two loafs? What do you recommend I do? 🙂
Laura Fuentes says
You can double the recipe and pour into two loaf pans. They can be baked at the same time side by side. Enjoy!

I am a HUGE fan of this recipe. Baked for just 45 minutes. Split sugar into 1/2 brown sugar/ 1/2 white sugar. Substituted All purpose flour with Self-rising flour because it’s what I had, adjusted baking soda/salt for this (thanks, Google). SO YUM. Very fluffy, and crispy slight crunch of a top. <3 Feeling good about the slight added protein with 5% fat Fage Greek yogurt.

Delicious! Best banana bread recipe made with Greek yogurt I’ve tried. I used plain, nonfat Greek yogurt and the bread turned out great. Not overly sweet and super moist. Thanks for sharing!
