Best-Ever Toppings for Waffles

Whether you buy them or make a batch of Classic Buttermilk Waffles or Healthy Banana Waffles, all you need is a base for the toppings. Top them with:

  • Butter: The most original waffle topping.
  • Cinnamon: Fluffy waffles with cinnamon taste like the holidays.
  • Sprinkles: a colorful addition kids love or make these Birthday Cake Waffles.
  • Milk Chocolate Chips: in the batter to make Chocolate Chip Waffles or on top are always a family favorite and taste epic.
  • Dark Chocolate Chips: If dark chocolate is more your waffle jam, add some store bought pieces.
  • White Chocolate Chips: Add with nuts or fruit for an out-of-this-world breakfast.
  • Nutmeg: Another holiday spice, with nutty flavor.
  • Maple Syrup: Sweet, irresistible, and complimentary to any waffle. Or, make your own brown sugar syrup!
  • Honey: A sweet alternative to traditional waffle syrup.
  • Cinnamon Syrup: a delicious touch of the classic flavor in a syrup!
  • Blueberry Syrup: use this easy must-make blueberry drizzle recipe.
  • Chocolate Drizzle: Decorate your waffle with ooey gooey chocolatey goodness!
  • Peanut Butter Drizzle: Will turn into the most delicious glaze on a fresh waffle.
  • Raspberry Drizzle: Another berry good choice to top your waffle with.
  • Peach Syrup: drizzled over waffles or these Peaches and cream waffles.
  • Strawberry Syrup: an easy recipe to take your waffles over the top!
  • Cocoa Powder: Great for chocolatey waffles that aren’t overly sweet.
  • Greek Yogurt: High protein for a waffle hunger hack.
  • Jelly: Spread your favorite for a delicious burst of fruit flavor.
  • Jam: Adds a thicker fruit flavor for added fruit.
  • Fruit puree: Blend your favorite fruits for an epic fruit drizzle to top your waffle.
  • Apple Sauce: This combination may seem out of place, but applesauce creates a subtly sweet apple taste that is amazing on waffles!
  • Strawberries: Strawberries are a classic waffle topping! Pair with whipped cream for a strawberries and cream vibe.
  • Blueberries: Frozen or fresh are both great options for this topping choice.
  • Apples: Spice or chop for an award-winning apple pie waffle flavor.
  • Mangoes: For a more tropical waffle palate.
  • Pomegranate Seeds: A healthy winter fruit that has juicy seeds for a burst of flavor in each bite.
  • Raisins: A sweet and slightly bitter crunch in every waffle bite.
  • Cherries: Marascino on top, please!
  • Kiwi: Kiwis are a delicious winter fruit that can be sliced thin for the ultimate waffle breakfast win.
  • Blackberries: Seasonal fruits that are sweet and tart on fresh waffles.
  • Pineapple: Top with shaved coconut for a pina colada waffle.
  • Powdered Sugar: Gives waffles a fair funnel cake taste!
  • Brown Sugar: A deep, sweet flavor that is super satisfying on a hot, fluffy waffle.
  • Cream Cheese: A low-calorie alternative that adds a subtle sweetness to waffles.
  • Granulated Sugar: If you don’t have any powdered sugar or don’t know how to make it, use regular sugar to create an extra sweet waffle.
  • Pudding: Pudding gives waffles a delicious crepe taste.
  • Whipped Cream: Whipped cream is nostalgic, and kids love it.
  • Almonds: Nutty, earthy, and toasty. Epic waffles await.
  • Pecans: If you haven’t tried them on waffles, thank me later!
  • Cashews: Cashews add extra crunch to soft, fluffy waffles.
  • Walnuts: Sweet, buttery, and crunchy
  • Oats: Hit your macros with this high-protein waffle topping!
  • Granola: For a crispy and flaky waffle crunch without added guilt.
  • Sunflower seeds: A mini crunchy goodness to start your morning!
  • Chia Seeds: For a healthier topping option with protein and fiber!
  • Macadamia Nuts: Pair with white chocolate for a cookie tasting waffle!
  • Mini Marshmallows: Combine with graham cracker and chocolate for the ultimate s’mores waffle.
  • Pop Rocks: Kids will love this sizzling combination!
  • Frosting: Birthday Cake icing or Funfetti is the best!
  • Gummy Candies: Another ‘kid-approved’ waffle topping.
  • Cookie Dough: Nuff said.
  • Mini M&Ms: M&Ms are fun and melt into a fluffy waffle.
  • Crushed Oreos: The cookie crunch you love with your favorite waffles.
  • Crushed Candy Canes: Perfect for using extra holiday candy canes. Crush and top.
  • Cereal: An easy topping that most people already have in their pantry.
  • Graham Cracker Crumbs: Mix with mini marshmallows or chocolate for a s’mores waffle.
  • Peanut Butter: Creamy peanut butter + hot waffles = breakfast win
  • Almond butter: If peanut butter isn’t your jam, try almond butter on waffles.
  • Caramel: For the best ooey gooey waffles
  • Apple butter: Rich, spreadable texture that creates a burst of buttery flavor on a waffle.
  • Lemon Curd: An easy-peasy lemon squeezy waffle topping!
  • Coconut Flakes: One ticket to waffle paradise, please.
  • Chopped Peaches: Use fresh or store bought fruit cups for a peachy keen waffle.
  • Chopped Raspberry: Your waffles will taste like a burst of fruity sweetness.
  • Sliced Bananas: Slice as thick or thin as you would like for a delicious banana flavored waffle.
  • Roasted Strawberries: Taking the time to roast the strawberries before topping them on the waffles elevates the flavor x1 million!
  • Cinnamon Roasted Apples: They taste like apple pie, with minimal effort!
  • Banana Foster: lightly cooked bananas + waffles= match made in waffle heaven!
  • Nutella: Chocolate-Hazelnut waffles are rated 10/10.
  • Peanut Butter Chips: These add a light peanut butter flavor to dull waffles.
  • Ice Cream: Dessert waffles for the win! Pair with your favorite flavor.

These toppings will turn boring old waffles into new and AMAZING breakfasts for your family to enjoy!

I wasn’t for sure if out of all these items how many could be on small breakfast bar? Can you pick which nuts or raisins to put on it!
