You’re about to learn how to prep peanut butter and jelly overnight oats in 5 minutes and the best add-ins to make this epic breakfast even more nutritious.

PB&J Overnight Oatmeal
While my family is devoted to pancakes on weekends, busy mornings call for our favorite breakfast on the go: overnight oats! My new obsession? Peanut butter and jelly overnight oats.
The irresistible flavors of the classic sandwich, mixed with all the health benefits of oats, are perfection. I don't even have to say how much my kids love this breakfast. AND I make it in 5 minutes the night before. Amazing!
Ingredients
I make this recipe with old-fashioned oats, any milk, creamy peanut butter (for smooth overnight oats, but you can use crunchy for a different texture), and your favorite fruit preserve (my go-to is homemade strawberry & chia seed jam).
Using Steel Cut Oats
If you want to use quick-cooking steel-cut oats, you'll need to double the liquid and refrigerate for at least 8 hours. In this post, I explain how to make overnight oatmeal with quick-cooking steel-cut oats. Traditional steel-cut oats do not soften enough overnight, so I don't recommend using them for this or any overnight oat recipe.
How to Make Peanut Butter and Jelly Overnight Oats
Check out the steps to make epic peanut butter and jelly overnight oats:
- Fill each jar with oats, milk, peanut butter, and jelly. If you're including chia seeds, flax meal, or hemp hearts, you can add them now.
- Refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours.
- Enjoy this breakfast cold, or warm it up in the microwave. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!
Other Toppings & Mix-Ins
I love adding chia seeds, flax meal, or hemp hearts before refrigerating the jars for a boost of nutrition. Before serving, you can also add a dollop of Greek yogurt, berries or sliced banana, chopped nuts, honey, or more peanut butter.
