Breakfast Naan with Fried Egg

With so many easy breakfast ideas I’ve shared through the years, you could enjoy a different breakfast every day for months! While I’m a sucker for overnight oats, my kids love variety, meaning they can enjoy easy pancakes and breakfast naan as well. Sweet? Savory? Lucky me, they love them all.

This breakfast naan includes bread, eggs, mild cheese, and a little bit of honey and sriracha. Yes, I know you’re drooling! It’s just as simple as making toast but adding the most epic toppings and a fried egg. I don’t know about you, but my day is better when fried eggs are involved!

Bonus: you can customize this breakfast naan with other ingredients you love! You’ll find tasty ideas below, but first, let’s see how this epic breakfast becomes a mouthwatering reality.

Ingredients

Here’s what I include in this Breakfast Naan Recipe and why every ingredient makes this morning meal one you’ll crave often:

  • Naan flatbread or pita bread: your favorite!
  • Ricotta cheese: its neutral flavor goes great with the other ingredients.
  • Egg: makes this breakfast so delicious!
  • Salt and pepper: for seasoning to taste.
  • Sriracha: to wake up your tastebuds!
  • Honey: the sweet note that balances the spice.

How to Make Breakfast Naan

Do you have 10 minutes? That’s all it takes to make this scrumptious breakfast naan! Check out the simple steps:

  1. Toast the bread
You can use a toaster, toaster oven, or a pan to toast the bread lightly.
  2. Add ricotta
Spread ricotta onto the toasted naan or pita.
  3. Fry the egg
Sunny side up or over easy; that’s up to you!
  4. Assemble
Place the fried egg over on top of the ricotta. Add salt, pepper, sriracha, and honey.

Variations

Don’t you have one of the ingredients, or do you prefer other flavors? Try these variations and your breakfast naan will be a morning feast:

Swap the spread
No ricotta? Spread hummus instead over your naan bread. It will still be super tasty and nutritious!

Scrambled Eggs
I love fried eggs, but scrambling the eggs is also a terrific idea and super easy to make.

Add more flavor
Make this breakfast more cheesy by adding shredded mozzarella cheese or kick up the flavor factor by adding bacon bits. So good!

More Easy Breakfast Recipes

If you love the cheese and egg combo, try this delicious breakfast quesadilla or these make-ahead breakfast burritos (easy to freeze!). This bacon and egg pizza is another favorite that satisfies kids and adults. More of the sweet and savory team? Make these pancake tacos!
