A fool-proof recipe for chicken with Italian seasoning that’s quick to make and tastes delicious.

Quick Italian Chicken Thighs
Chicken skillet recipes always make great dinners when I get home and need something delicious and healthy fast. From lemon garlic chicken to pan-seared chicken pieces, I know I'll get an epic dinner on the table with no fuss.
Italian seasoning is my favorite mix of herbs, meaning I make my own mix at home and use it for everything, including chicken thighs! So, if plain chicken thighs are already flavorful, wait to add these incredible herbs. 100% drool-worthy.
How to Make Chicken with Italian Seasoning
Love the flavor, but need to make some swaps? Try my baked Italian chicken breasts recipe instead. Otherwise, here’s how to make this chicken dinner:
- Season
Combine the seasonings in a bowl and season the chicken generously on both sides. Pat the chicken thighs dry first so the seasonings stick better to the meat. - Cook
Place the chicken thighs in the pan, keeping some room between each other (otherwise, cook them in batches). Cook them for about 7 minutes per side. They are ready when the internal temperature reaches 175F. - Serve
Remove from the pan and enjoy this chicken with Italian seasoning with your favorite sides!

Knowing When Chicken Thighs Are Done Cooking
Boneless chicken thighs are usually done after cooking them for 7 minutes per side. Since not all chicken pieces are the same size, the best way to check doneness is by poking the thickest part with a meat thermometer. If the internal temperature reaches 175F, the chicken thighs are done.
What to Serve with Italian Seasoned Chicken
Whatever you decide to serve as a side dish for Italian chicken thighs, you can’t go wrong! That said, I have some quick recipes among my favorites, like sautéed cabbage, cilantro lime rice, and caramelized Brussels sprouts. Want something super fresh? Make this easy bruschetta salad!
Chicken Thighs with Italian Seasoning

Ingredients
- 1 ½ lbs chicken thighs, boneless skinless
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon oil or butter, for cooking
Instructions
Prep:
- Use a paper towel to pat dry the chicken thighs.
- In a small dish, combine the seasonings. Generously season both sides of the chicken thighs with the seasonings.
Cook:
- Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, heat the oil (or melt the butter). Place the chicken thighs on the pan and cook the first side for 7 minutes, until the bottoms are golden and they easily lift to flip them over. There should be some room between the chicken pieces. If not, cook in two batches.
- Flip and cook the other side for another 7 minutes until the internal temperature at the thickest part reaches 175F. Cooking time on the second side can vary and might need an additional 2 minutes if the thighs are really thick.
- Remove the chicken from the pan and serve. Cook the remaining pieces if necessary.
