Homemade Ranch Dressing with Cottage Cheese

With cottage cheese being all the rave, I decided to take my tried-and-true Greek yogurt Ranch, make a few tweaks, and turn it into something that makes my salads more exciting to eat.

The forty-something in me who can’t get enough protein into her day isn’t sorry about this trend at all because it turns out that this cottage cheese Ranch dressing drizzles well over everything!

Ingredients

The simple everyday staples you need to make this epic dressing are cottage cheese (you'll blend it, so the curd size doesn't matter), milk or buttermilk, dried parsley (or finely chopped fresh parsley), dried dill, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

How to Make Cottage Cheese Ranch Dressing

In this recipe, you first blend the cottage cheese and the milk for a few seconds until smooth. Then, add the seasonings and pulse to combine. So easy, right? Watch it start to finish in this quick video:

How Much Protein Per Serving

A serving of cottage cheese ranch dressing -about 2 tablespoons- contains 3 grams of protein.

How to Thin Out the Dressing

Want this dressing to be thinner? Add a bit of water, milk, or buttermilk, little by little, until you get the desired consistency. When this dressing is stored in the fridge, it can get a little thick, so you can thin it out by doing the same.

Or, if you prefer a thicker version for dipping, you definitely have to try this epic Cottage Cheese Ranch Dip recipe!

Storing Cottage Cheese Ranch

Store this Ranch dressing in a lidded jar in the fridge. It lasts up to a week, but I bet you’ll eat it sooner!

Salads to Serve High-Protein Ranch Dressing

The tasty flavor of this cottage cheese Ranch dressing pairs amazingly well with this Cobb pasta salad, this easy BLT salad, or this Santa Fe chicken salad. It’s also perfect for drizzling over an everyday side salad, this Buffalo chicken salad, or my incredible Mexican salad. Everything gets better with this dressing!

I love all the classic ranch flavor with the cottage cheese twist. It tastes almost exactly like regular ranch, but better.

I love using cottage cheese in place of buttermilk or sour cream to make it a bit healthier!
