This healthy apple pie smoothie with cinnamon and oats has the delicious flavors of our favorite pie in a refreshing smoothie!

It tastes like dessert and it’s good for you! Try it once, and you’ll find yourself making this apple pie smoothie for breakfast all the time!

Apple Pie Smoothie with Bananas

What’s not to love about a slice of homemade apple pie? A flaky, buttery crust packed with soft, baked apples and topped with vanilla ice cream- delish!

While I like to indulge in homemade apple pie now and then, I’ve found this apple pie smoothie a nice reminder that you can enjoy those same flavors in a healthier, refreshing way. It’s got all the apple pie flavors we love without all the extra sugar or butter.

Smoothies are always a good idea to introduce foods into your kid’s diet they otherwise wouldn’t eat in solid forms, like this pineapple green smoothie, which is a great way to sneak in fresh spinach! See where I’m going?

Ingredients

Within seconds this creamy, chilled smoothie is ready to be enjoyed! Here’s everything you need to know about the ingredients:

  • Apple: Gala, Honey Crisp, and Pink Lady work best for smoothies.
  • Milk: regular or dairy-free; use your favorite.
  • Oats: thicken the smoothie and add tons of nutrition.
  • Frozen banana: a ripe frozen banana adds natural sweetness and gives the smoothie a frosty texture. No frozen banana? Add ice!
  • Cinnamon: a pinch adds a lot of flavor!

How to Make an Apple Pie Smoothie

Is there any quicker or easier breakfast? You can also prep ahead and make this smoothie the night before for a quick breakfast or freeze and pack it for lunch the next day. Here’s how to make it:

  1. Prep
Chop the apple coarsely so you can place it in the blender with the other ingredients. You can peel or not peel the apple; that’s up to you!
  2. Blend
Blend until smooth. Your smoothie is ready!

Apple Smoothie Mix ins

Add extra fiber and healthy fats to your apple pie smoothie by adding flax meal or chia seeds. They add nutrition and also make the smoothie thicker. For a boost of protein, you can include a scoop of vanilla protein powder or Greek yogurt.

Peanut butter, or a nut-free alternative, is also great for adding extra nutrition, thickness, and a note of tasty flavor. Thinking about adding vanilla extract? Delicious idea!

I always have frozen fruit on hand to make epic smoothies my family loves! Make the most of the fruits you have around and try this Berry Banana Smoothie, this delicious Mango Peach Smoothie, or this Watermelon Smoothie with Yogurt.

You can also sneak veggies in your glass of goodness with this tasty Blueberry Spinach Smoothie or this Prune Juice Smoothie. So good!
