These easy-to-make lasagna cupcakes are the perfect finger food that's always a winner with kids as a party appetizer or a fun kid-friendly recipe.

Lasagna cupcakes are the thing to make when you've got won-ton wrappers you've been meaning to use in the fridge and you want a winning recipe that will disappear.

Easy Lasagna Cups

When it comes to kid-friendly recipes, lasagna is at the top of most family’s lists; which is why when my kids have friends over, these easy lasagna cups have traditionally been a winning recipe all around!

These became a spin off my mini taco cups -which were also devoured once served. There’s something very appealing and delicious that makes both of these single-serving cups disappear.

The best part is that they’re just as tasty at room temperature, so they are perfect for serving at any party or gathering even packed as an easy school lunch.

Below I share the steps to making these beauties and the tips to make the process super easy. If you don’t have won-ton wrappers but want the easiest lasagna, try my No-Bake Lasagna or Skillet Lasagna recipes.

Ingredients

Flavorful meat, marinara sauce, tons of cheese… yes, these lasagna cupcakes are filled with goodness! You just need to add wonton wrappers to shape the cups, and that’s all! The amounts are at the end of the post, but first, let’s see exactly what you need:

  • Oil: for cooking the filling.
  • Ground beef: choose lean ground beef for healthier cupcakes.
  • Garlic powder: makes everything tastier!
  • Italian seasoning: you want this seasoning blend for mouth-watering flavor!
  • Salt: just a little for seasoning.
  • Cheese: this recipe uses ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, and grated Parmesan.
  • Marinara sauce: or your favorite tomato sauce. I like to use my easy Slow Cooker Tomato Sauce.
  • Wonton wrappers: look for them in the produce section of your grocery store.

How to Make Lasagna Cupcakes

Don’t be fooled by their sophisticated look, they are really easy to assemble. Here are some tips below each step:

  1. Prep
While you preheat the oven to 400F, combine the ricotta, Mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses in a bowl.
  2. Cook the filling
Now, you cook the ground beef in a pan, breaking it up with a spatula as you go. Add the seasonings, stir, and keep cooking until the ground beef is cooked through.
  3. Prep the wonton wrappers
Place one wonton wrapper inside each cup and fill them with the meat and marinara sauce. Make another layer and top each lasagna cupcake with the cheese mixture.
  4. Bake
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and crispy and the cheese on top has melted. Time to enjoy!

How to Serve Lasagna Cupcakes

Serve these lasagna cupcakes with more finger food to keep dinner fun, delicious, and nutritious! Hummus Stuffed Celery Stalks, Sweet Potato Tater Tots, and Bell Pepper Nachos, are epic side dishes for a complete meal everyone enjoys.

You can also add Healthy Broccoli Tots, Zucchini Waffles, or Carrot Fries. Whether you’re packing lunch, planning dinner, or a party, these will be a huge hit!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspooon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup ricotta cheese
  • ¾ cup shredded mozzarella
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan
  • 16 ounces marinara sauce
  • 24 wonton wrappers

Instructions

Prep:

  • Preheat the oven to 400F and position the top rack in the middle of the oven.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta, Mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses, and set aside.

Cook the filling:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the oil and spread it over the pan. Cook the ground beef on the hot pan, breaking it up with a spatula as you go. As the meat is cooking, add the garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt to the pan. Stir to distribute seasonings and continue cooking the ground beef until it's cooked through. Turn off the heat and set aside.
  • While the meat cooks, spray the muffin pan with oil. Place one wonton wrapper inside each cup, gently pushing them down into the space.

Assemble & Bake:

  • Fill each cup with 1 tablespoon of ground beef, top it with 1 tablespoon of marinara sauce.
  • Top this first layer with another wonton wrapper by placing it on top of the sauce, gently shaping it into the cup shape. Spoon another tablespoon of the cooked meat, another tablespoon of marinara, and one tablespoon of the cheese mixture at the very top. Use the back of the spoon to gently press it down into the cupcake shape.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and crispy and the cheese on top has melted. Remove from the oven.

Serve:

  • Carefully remove each lasagna cup from the muffin pan onto a serving plate or board, using a rounded knife if necessary to help lift them out.
