Home Lunch Ideas for Adults – What to Make for Lunch At Home

With more people than ever working from home, we are all in need of some good home lunch ideas. Today, I have some of the best home lunches to share with you.

These lunch recipes are some of my personal avorites and include examples of what I have for lunch each day at my house.

If you’re working from home, you’ve probably thought a lot about what to eat for lunch at home. While there’s not the temptation of swinging by a drive-thru, it’s all to easy to get stuck in a lunch rut when you don’t have to pack an office lunch before you start work each day.

The ideas I’m sharing today will make sure you eat healthy, and delicious lunches every day – from home!

How to Prep Lunches at Home

One of the best ways to ensure you’re eating well through the day is to plan ahead. Yes, even when you’ll be enjoying lunch at home! If you already have a plan in place or have prepped the ingredients you want to use for your home lunch, then you’re more likely to stick with the plan and choose something healthy. Most days, I wake up in the morning and prep lunch before I start my day.

At my house, breakfast and lunch get taken care of at the same time so that I don’t have to take a long lunch break in the middle of my day.

And yes, my “lunch breaks” often look like me working through lunch while I eat a hand-held meal. That’s why you’ll see lots of wraps, sandwiches and lettuce cups when I share lunches on my Instagram because they’re so easy to eat while I work.

Lunch Ideas for Adults At Home

Here are some of my best office lunches through the years and yes, I’m enjoying these as home lunches now and invite you to do the same. These are meal prep recipes you can make ahead and save for lunch throughout the week. Since you have your entire kitchen to work with, the possibilities for home lunches are endless! I love repurposing leftovers from dinner the night before into a tasty lunch the next day, but in this post you’ll find plenty of stand-alone healthy home lunches too. Ingredients

  • 1 8-inch flour tortilla
  • ¼ avocado, mashed
  • 2 slices (15 g) bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons (15 g) of cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoons (10 g) mayonnaise
  •  

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mash avocado and mix with mayonnaise.
  2. Place flour tortilla on a flat surface and spread the mayonnaise avocado mixture evenly throughout the flour tortilla.
  3. Top with crumbled bacon and shredded cheese.
  4. Roll tortilla tightly. Cut tortilla roll in half, and then into 1-inch pieces.
